Winter Commissioning December 2016

Ens. James Ahlgrimm, 23, from Falls Church, VA, was commissioned on December 23, 2016 in the Senate Chambers of the Wisconsin State Capitol Building. He is a graduate of the School of Engineering, with a double major in Civil Engineering and Naval Science. Wisconsin NROTC Commanding Officer Captain Christopher Murdoch administered the commissioning oath. Family and friends pinned on his new rank, and his grandfather, a retired United States Army Specialist, issued his first salute. Ens. Ahlgrimm has been selected to serve in submarines and will report to nuclear power school in Charleston, South Carolina, in March 2017.
