Reporting for Submarine Service!

Congratulations to the Navy's newest Ensigns - Ensign Michael Elwing, Ensign Abraham Hernandez, and Ensign Karl Zimbauer.

Captain John Barnett, Commanding Officer of the University of Wisconsin NROTC Unit, administered the oath of office to the trio on Saturday morning, 18 December 2021. Within the Senate Chamber of the Wisconsin State Capitol, family, friends, NROTC Unit Staff, and Badger Battalion Midshipman gathered to witness the commissioning ceremony. Ulis Hekel, former Unit CO and XO, provided a blessing and presented the new officers with professional books on behalf of the Association.

All three new officers will report in the next few months to the Naval Nuclear Power Training Command in Goose Creek, SC for their start of submarine officer training. We wish them all the best as they embark on the Naval careers and we welcome our newest alums!
