Jake Swanson, Midshipman 1/C, Class of 2024

Midshipman 1/C Jake Swanson grew up in Woodbury, Minnesota. While attending East Ridge High School, he was selected for a Naval ROTC scholarship. He now is a senior at the University of Wisconsin-Madison studying Biological Systems Engineering. As a Midshipman, he has held positions as a division officer, Navy and Marine Corps Birthday Officer-In-Charge, and now is serving as the Battalion Executive Officer and Aviation Club President. Following his commission, Midshipman Swanson hopes to attend Flight School in Pensacola, Florida.  Apart from his duties at UW Naval ROTC Unit, he is very active in his church community and is currently the MIDN Commander of the UW Madison National Honor Society of Scabbard and Blade Company.
